Parents, we all love this great game and the intense competitiveness it brings out in all of us...both the parents and the players.  I love when I see passion and support for the players and the coaches.  With that being said, we also have to understand this is youth football and there are certain things that will not, cannot be tolerated. I promise, none of these boys are being drafted to the NFL in the coming seasons. Unsportsmanlike conduct will NOT BE TOLERATED AT ANY POINT AGAINST ANYONE, not during the games or the practices.  First offenses can and will most likely result in the offenders being banned from any and all Crofton Cardinal practices and home games. Parents/Spectators Code of Conduct

The mission of the Crofton Football Club (CFC) is to provide a safe, fun learning environment for our players. We strive to create an opportunity for kids to work together as a team toward common goals. We emphasize sportsmanship, teamwork and respect for authority figures (Directors, Coaches, and Game Officials). While attending any games, practices or events related to the CFC program, you are a representative of not only your family but the CFC organization and should act appropriately.

The CFC will not tolerate verbal or physical abuse of its volunteer coaches, referees, or players from any Parent, Player, or Spectator. Spectators are expected to abide by the code of conduct described here at all CFC events. While most of the adults in the program will abide by this code without being instructed, it is being published to protect the children, the integrity of our program, and emphasize the CFC values.  It will also serve as written documentation that all parents were made aware of the CFC Board of Directors policy.

When attending CFC related events, I agree:


  1. I will be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect, courtesy, and positive support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at every game, practice or other sporting event.
  2. I will demand that my child treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect.
  3. I will NOT ridicule or yell at my child or other participant for making a mistake or losing a competition.
  4. I will accept decisions of the game officials (including coaches) on the field as being fair and called to the best ability of said officials. The officials are in charge of all games; their decisions are final.
    • I will NOT question, discuss, or confront coaches or referees at the game field.
    • I will NOT engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or parent such as booing, taunting or using profane language or gestures
    • I will NOT act in aggressive demonstrative manner, which might incite violent or aggressive fan involvement.
  5. I will NOT encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and wellbeing of the athletes.
  6. I will NOT be a sideline coach or referee.  I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during games and practices. I will limit my comments to positive reinforcement and encouragement.
    • I will direct any concerns or constructive criticism of my child's team program to the head coach at an appropriate time.  I will work toward a positive result for all concerned.
  7. I will inform the coach of any physical disability or ailment that may affect the safety of my child or the safety of others.
  8. I will abstain from being under the influence of or in possession of alcoholic beverages or any illegal substance on both the game and practice fields.
  9. I will remember that the game is for my child and their teammates, not for adults.
  10. I will stay behind the designated spectator line during a game and practice.
  11. I will NOT Interfere/interrupt the coaching staff during games or practices, or otherwise subvert their authority.
  12. I will NOT smoke or use tobacco products on the practice field, game field.
  13. I will NOT undermine, in work or deed, the authority of any Directors, Coaches or Team GMs in the CFC.
  14. I will NOT at any CFC event, practice, or competition, verbally abuse, attempt to intimidate, act flagrantly rude to any player, official, coach, spectator, or CFC board member.
  15. I will agree to be responsible for any spectator that I bring to CFC events as a guest. 
  16. At no time will a CFC Player, Parent, or anyone affiliated with the CFC be allowed to post negative or derogatory messages or comments pertaining to any football item to online chat rooms, blogs, bulletin boards, etc. This behavior is unacceptable by any player and parent and may reflect negatively against the reputation and integrity of you, your family and the CFC. If at any time the CFC finds players or parents, or any CFC affiliated individuals posting negative comments, the CFC board of directors reserves the right to remove those parties from these outlets (if CFC owned).  It may also result in disciplinary actions that effect the offender’s participation at future CFC activities.
  17. I will remember that as a fan, I represent the CFC.  I also understand that poor behavior during practices, games, may result in expulsion from the football activity, where I must wait next to my car in the parking area for my child.  If this occurs, it may result in expulsion from the club


Consequences of Behavior

I agree that if I fail to abide by the aforementioned rules and guidelines, I will be subject to disciplinary action that could include, but is not limited to the following:


  1. Verbal warning by official, head coach, and/or member of league organization
  2. Removal from event. If you fail to leave upon request, law enforcement will be called to remove you.
  3. Suspension:  You may be suspended from CFC activities for a duration set by the CFC board.
  4. Ban: You will receive a no contact order and not be allowed to attend CFC events permanently. 
  5. These consequences do not have to be served in any specific order.  The severity of the consequence will be determined by the CFC board of directors after review of the offenses and filed with the CAC. 


I also understand that the severity of consequences are not based on the amount of incidents you create.  You can be banned for a first time offense.

NO PLAYER IS AUTHORIZED TO PARTICIPATE IN CFC EVENTS UNTIL ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF THIS PAGE HAS BEEN COMPLETED DURING THE REGISTRATION PROCESS.  THIS INCLUDES PRACTICES.
